Clearly self-explanatory.Actually, I'm not sure what to say about this, so I'll keep my yapper in the upright position.

I apologize if the image goes all red-x-ish on you. Please see the link below if that problem arises. Actually, the full view is recommended by 4 out of 5 medical professionals for all cases.

The composition feels a bit weird to me though. Maybe the fighting monsters in the background are too close to the movie watchers?

Oh, right when I finished writing the above text, I realized that the boy and the, um, trilobitt, are watching a black and white cinema screen! Now I understand the title better.
If I understand it correctly, the trilobitt is the one broadcasting the video, eh? Funny idea!
I somewhat find the composition a little messy, but just a little. I'm not sure how to fix that, though. Maybe if the cinemawatchers were moved more to the right, with the trilobitt placed in front of parts of the bugs in the background...
Anyway, nicely painted, and a funny idea!

Agree with jane in the composition thing, there are too many focal points, the screen, the boy and bug, and the bugfight.

I agree that the composition is perhaps a bit busy, though I tried several variations on placement of the main figures and the giant branchiopods (yep, that's what those things are called--wish I could take credit for making 'em up
Sandra, I played with the movie, but ended up with a very similar placement to where I started (story of my life; I think maybe I just get indecisive and end up going with something close to what I had!), though higher as you suggested.
So, slightly revised version. Mostly I played with the look of the projection and did some fine tuning of the colors. Can't look at it any longer--my objectivity is completely gone.

Except for that amazing technique! Colors, depth of field, background and details - everything is great! Awesome work!

I must say that my first impression of this painting (after I readed the title of course) was: I love this but, wtf!?
Like some people here, I didn't catch the broadcasting trilobitt (
Maybe if you use some contrast color, or change the values, or something like that to make the proyection pop out? I think it's the key element to understand the picture.
Don't get me wrong, I love the way you painted this, it's truly skillful, love the lights, the colors, the idea, the original compo (not the classic right side figure and background proyection, uh?), everything....but it's just my 2 cents, maybe it'll help ya to improve it even more
Hope it was somewhat helpful, cheers!

I like the composition being a bit 'chaotic', makes you work to suck in the imagery
The issue with the projection has mentioned,
I think it would be better if it were a physical real screen,
which also enhances the vintage feeling this image has
Anyway well done + 10

I dunno what to crit, my skills are far worse. But maybe playing around a bit more with rock textures? Clueless me...
